The short-billed dowitcher is a spring and fall migrant to the Puget Sound Georgia Basin marine ecosystem, feeding strictly on invertebrates in soft mud along the water’s edge. Although the global population appears to be secure, the regional population is thought to be very small. British Columbia has Blue listed this bird.
