Research Focus
My primary research interest is focused on flow directed minimally invasive hemodynamic monitoring and its application to perform fluid therapy optimization in a goal directed fashion. Flow based hemodynamic monitoring has been shown to improve patient outcomes in human medicine and it is my hope that a similar benefit may exist in our patients. The area of flow directed hemodynamic monitoring is fairly unexplored in veterinary medicine due to invasive nature of various modalities/techniques used to perform flow (cardiac output) measurement precluding its utility in standard clinical practice. I am focusing on studying inimally
invasive technologies so that if a good validation is obtained in the laboratory then the technology may find a direct application in the clinical patient management.
