The complete blood count (CBC) is a common diagnostic test; however, many times it is not included in a minimum database. This seminar will provide a rapid overview of the CBC, emphasizing what information is lost when it’s not included in screening healthy animals and evaluating sick patients. The CBC is highly sensitive for identifying underlying illness, characterizing severity of disease, and providing objective information regarding the progression/regression of disease.
