This certification course provides a comprehensive introduction to Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine (TCVM), covering foundational theories such as Yin-Yang and the Five Elements essential for clinical assessment and treatment. Students receive training in multiple acupuncture techniques, including electro-acupuncture, aqua-acupuncture, and moxibustion.
Hands-on labs using live canine models emphasize acupoint location, with enrollment limited to 24 participants for an individualized learning experience. The certification, awarded by Chi University and hosted by the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, combines online and in-person learning.
The online component includes five on-demand modules (94 hours of lectures and case studies), while the in-person portion features three on-site modules (45.5 CE hours) at UC Davis, offering small-group labs with a 6:1 student-to-instructor ratio. An additional 12 hours of tutoring support is provided to prepare for certification exams.
