Myxomatous mitral valve disease (MMVD) is the most common heart disease in dogs. Proper management requires a clear understanding of diagnostic and medication strategies across all stages of the disease. MMVD can progress to congestive heart failure (CHF), however, early intervention can delay CHF onset. This program educates students on the latest diagnostic approaches and management based on updated American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine guidelines. Students will gain confidence managing MMVD at every stage, reviewing evidence-based options to improve patient outcomes and ensure optimal care.
