Join us in hosting Dr. Michael Turelli as he shares new genomic research on Wolbachia, the widespread bacterial symbiont that we best know from heartworm disease! 
He will share about his genomic research and how they are able to infect different species of Drosophilia and various mosquitos. This work has important implications not only for evolutionary biology, but also for applied efforts to use Wolbachia in mosquito-borne disease control in both human and veterinary medicine!
