Thirteen Veterinary Students Receive Zoetis Scholarships

Thirteen DVM students from the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine have been selected as recipients of the 2021 Zoetis Veterinary Student Scholars Award. Applications were submitted by more than 1,200 second- and third-year veterinary students from veterinary schools in the United States and the Caribbean. The 13 UC Davis winners are part of 315 total recipients. Each will receive a scholarship of $2,000.

Scholarship recipients from UC Davis are: Taylor Abraham, Grace Bloom, Prathima Garudadri, Ryan Gluck, Elizabeth Grant, Stacy Kim, Amber McElhinney, Amanda Murdock, Melissa Rubinow, Heidi Schultz, Claire Takeshita, Tiffany Tse, and Emma Zhang.

Zoetis, a leading global animal health company, has been an important industry partner of the School for many years. This is the twelfth year of the scholarship program, which has donated more than $7.9 million to aid students with the cost of their education.

UC Davis was recently named the best value among veterinary schools by the American Veterinary Medical Association, based partly on its ranking of having the second-least median student debt of all U.S. veterinary schools thanks to scholarship programs like this.
