Campus Veterinary Services (CVS) invites you to join us in celebrating Biomedical Research Awareness Day (BRAD), a day to honor, raise awareness of, and pledge support for animals needed for biomedical research. BRAD is an international outreach program through Americans for Medical Progress that seeks to increase public awareness about animal roles in biomedical research and the resulting medical advancements that benefit both humans and animals. BRAD highlights the importance of animal studies and demonstrates research organizations’ commitment to providing excellent animal care. It also builds a research advocate community and showcases biomedical research and laboratory animal care and medicine careers.

The day will be packed with interesting presentations from our very own lab animal medicine residents and speakers within our community, including Mouse Biology Program (MBP), Comparative Pathology Laboratories (CPL), Jackson Laboratories, USC, and Vanderbilt MC Translational Pathology Share Resource! There will also be booths and freebies for participants, as well as some light refreshments. We hope to educate people about the vital role animals play in the development of new treatments and cures for people and animals, highlight careers in biomedical research, and promote support for the compassionate care of animals needed for research. We can't wait to see you all there!
