[FARM Club] Swine Facility Tour and AI Wet Lab

NOTE: Student club and organization events are limited to current UC Davis Veterinary Medicine students who are registered SAVMA members. Additionally, many club and organization events are further restricted to club members who have paid their respective club dues.

The first part of the wet lab will be a tour of the UC Davis Swine Teaching and Research Center. The Swine Center is a Specific Pathogen Free breeding and research facility with many different genetic lines of swine. This is a great opportunity to get an inside look at what goes on in a swine facility and get exposure to production porcine husbandry (very different than pot-bellied pigs!). The second part of the wet lab will be to practice artificial insemination. There will be sows in actual heat as well as a clinical skills model sow. This will also be held at the UCD Swine Facility and the same biosecurity measures apply. Capped at 20
