Relay for Life (RFL) is an all-day fundraiser hosted by the American Cancer Society (ACS). It is intended to raise money for patient care and cancer research, including comparative cancer studies. There will be veterinary and medical speakers as well as a cancer survivor who will share their experiences with cancer. Oncology speakers will include DVM/RVT oncology staff from the UC Davis vet school and MD/RN oncology staff from the UC Davis med school. The veterinary speakers will discuss their experiences treating pets with cancer at the UC Davis Veterinary Hospital and how veterinary oncology plays a role in One Health. The event also includes complimentary food/drinks, games, and prize raffles and will end with a candle vigil ceremony. The registration fee is $15, and attendees are free to stay for as much of the event as they would like.
