Dr. Heidi Reesink Appointed Director of the Veterinary Orthopedics Research Laboratory
Dr. Heidi Reesink has been appointed as the Director of the J.D. Wheat Veterinary Orthopedics Research Laboratory (VORL). VORL provides an environment for multidisciplinary studies pertaining to musculoskeletal disorders of animals.
Dr. Reesink will provide strategic leadership for the basic sciences and clinical research efforts of VORL as well as administrative oversight, in conjunction with staff personnel. She will build and maintain relationships with industry, nonprofit, academic, regulatory, and funding partners while working with development and communications teams to enhance philanthropic support, stakeholder engagement, and visibility of VORL and its initiatives and achievements. Dr. Reesink will also meet with new faculty interested in VORL activities.
Dr. Reesink joined the Weill School of Veterinary Medicine as Professor of Veterinary Orthopedics in the Department of Surgical and Radiological Sciences in March of 2025.
For the previous three years, Dr. Denis Marcellin-Little and Dr. Damian Genetos have served as Co-Directors of VORL.
