Blood Bank Boot Camp

NOTE: Student club and organization events are limited to current UC Davis Veterinary Medicine students who are registered SAVMA members. Additionally, many club and organization events are further restricted to club members who have paid their respective club dues.

Valley Hall

Blood Bank Boot Camp will be held at the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine from October 28-29, 2023. The Saturday component will feature several lecture topics on the blood bank community, donors, blood typing, and transfusion. Participants will be able to attend the Saturday lectures either in-person or webinar. For the Sunday component, the labs will only be offered in-person only. In-person registration for Saturday is required to register for Sunday's labs.

Sunday's labs will be led by the instructors with participants divided into 3 groups who will rotate between the 3 lab sessions: Collection and Processing Lab, Type and Crossmatch Lab, and Case-Based Discussion.
