Green Task Force is co-hosting the first Toxic Plant Garden workday of the academic year on Saturday, October 28th from 8:30am-10:30pm. A perfect spooky way to kick off Halloween weekend. Sign up here if you'd like to join us!
As a bit of background, this project is led by Melyssa Rehman (the wonderful person who runs our Clinical Skills Lab) and in partnership with Arboretum staff. The Toxic Plant Garden is supposed to be an educational resource for students working to become competent in toxic plant identification, but it has fallen into disrepair. We are working to bring it back to its former glory so that it can again be a resource as students are learning to ID toxic plants common in California.
On this workday, we'll be removing some castor bean plant and trimming back some Angel's Trumpet. It'll be a relaxing day to spend the morning and we'll have some Halloween-y treats to share.
