[SMC] Field Trip to Humane Society of Silicon Valley (HSSV)

NOTE: Student club and organization events are limited to current UC Davis Veterinary Medicine students who are registered SAVMA members. Additionally, many club and organization events are further restricted to club members who have paid their respective club dues.

Humane Society of Silicon Valley

Shelter medicine club will be taking a tour to HSSV to learn about their shelter. Students will learn about the ins and outs of what it takes to run a shelter and what a day in the life of shelter vet looks like. Lunch will be provided. 

Humane Society Silicon Valley is the world’s first model shelter to meet the 543 Guidelines for the Standards of Care in Animal Shelters put forth by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians in 2010. HSSV is also the first animal community center in the nation to receive Gold LEED certification from the U.S. Green Building Council.
