Event Date
Surgery Club is happy to announce our first wet lab of the year, the Gowning and Gloving wet lab. We will be having two sessions on Monday, September 9th, 5:30-6:15pm and 6:30-7:15pm.
At this wet lab, you will learn how to properly don surgical attire, i.e. a surgical gown and sterile gloves. We find most students get it down pretty quickly, so you’ll have plenty of time during the wet lab to practice, and at the end you’ll demonstrate for one of our officers who will clear you for shadowing.
Quick reminder that besides being a pretty useful clinical skill, knowing how to properly gown and glove will be required for 1st and 2nd year participation in several of the shadowing programs that clubs hold throughout the year (where you may be scrubbing into real surgeries in the VMTH).
