The Advanced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Course: Advanced Mandibular and Maxillofacial Trauma Management Using Internal Fixation in the Dog and Cat, hosted by the Center for Continuing Professional Education, is designed to enhance participants’ understanding and technical skills in managing oral and maxillofacial fractures with internal fixation.
Lectures provide a foundation for the hands-on practical labs, which focus on clinically relevant fracture scenarios commonly encountered in veterinary oral and maxillofacial surgery (OMFS) practice. Training includes management of mandibular and maxillofacial fractures, as well as soft tissue trauma requiring axial pattern flaps.
As internal fixation becomes an increasingly preferred treatment for these injuries, this course is ideal for veterinarians experienced in OMFS trauma who wish to advance their surgical expertise through intensive, hands-on practice.
