Dr. Yu-Yang (Jerry) Tsai Joins California Animal Health and Food Safety and Department of Pathology, Microbiology & Immunology

Dr. Yu-Yang (Jerry) Tsai has joined the California Animal Health and Food Safety Laboratory and the Department of Pathology, Microbiology & Immunology as Assistant Professor of Clinical Diagnostic Medicine effective February 1, 2026.

Dr. Tsai received his DVM (2017) from the National Chung Hsing University, Taichung, Taiwan. He then obtained his PhD (2025) in Comparative Biomedical Science at the Univerity of Georgia, Athens, GA. Dr. Tsai was a poultry production veterinarian (2018-2020) with the Great Wall Enterprise Co, Limited, Taiwan. He has been serving as a Research Associate (2025) with the University of Georgia, Athens, GA.

Dr. Tsai’s research focuses on poultry intestinal diseases with a particular interest in focal duodenal necrosis. Dr. Tsai is also interested in all kinds of poultry diseases.
