Exploring Jewish Identity: Expressions, Perceptions, and Challenges in the Face of Antisemitism

Join us for a lunchtime seminar (food will be provided) lead by Dr. Leah Hibel. Leah Hibel is a Professor of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of California, Davis. She studies the impact of stress on children and families. Stressors she has study include discrimination, antisemitism, family violence, and poverty. She currently has an ongoing study of parents experience of Jewish identity and antisemitism, and how teach identity and antisemitism to their children. Her work has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation. She is a faculty affiliate of the Center for Poverty and Inequality at UC Davis and is part of a committee at Congregation Bet Haverim focused on combatting antisemitism locally.
