Research Focus
My research interests focus on the health and welfare of livestock and companion species in prevention against, response to, and recovery from various disasters/emergencies, including natural, man-made and disease outbreaks impacting rural and agricultural communities throughout California. Areas of emphasis are based on an evaluation of the needs of communities at risk of disasters and agencies or other entities responding to disasters or who are involved in recovery from disasters. I am also interested in evaluating the impacts of training courses for stakeholders in animal care and agriculture.
