Equine PET Scan Featured on Good Day Sacramento

On April 14, 2021, local television morning show "Good Day Sacramento" visited the UC Davis Center for Equine Health. Dr. Mathieu Spriet showcased the latest in equine PET scanning technology.

In 2015, UC Davis became the first veterinary hospital in the world to acquire an equine PET scanner. Since then, Dr. Spriet has worked with the PET scanner industry to test prototypes of several versions of scanners. His research has mostly been focused on improving racehorse safety and has led to the permanent installation of an equine PET scanner at Santa Anita Park.

The school's latest PET scanner will soon be used at Golden Gate Fields.
