The Wildlife and Aquatic Animal Medicine club (WAAM) is excited to host Dr. Jackie Gai who will be presenting "Caring for Captive Wildlife - A Sanctuary Veterinarian's Perspective." Dr. Gai will talk about her origin story, her work at PAWS (Performing Animal Welfare Society) over the past 25 years, similarities and differences between zoos and sanctuaries, animal welfare issues in captive wildlife, and a little bit about zoo veterinarian welfare (how to thrive in practice), as well elephants.
