Technicians review and perform X-rays

Radiography (X-ray)

Radiographs, or x-ray studies, use a very short burst of x-rays to create an image of the body. The VMTH is equipped with state of the art radiography systems that capture high quality images. Radiographs are used to diagnose disease in the chest, abdomen and musculoskeletal system.

X-rays are the oldest and most frequently used form of veterinary medical imaging, and are commonly used to  diagnose problems such as: pneumonia, heart failure, cancer, and various other life threatening conditions. They are also used to perform special studies, such as contrast studies of the gastrointestinal and urinary tract to diagnose obstructions.
