Mentor Network

Mentoring is important to increase knowledge, enhance professional growth and development, expand connections, and aid in academic and career success.

The Career, Leadership and Wellness Center is proud to offer the Mentor Network which acts as a catalyst connecting current UC Davis DVM students to professionals in the field of veterinary medicine. This Network offers a searchable database, and is a fantastic opportunity for our aspiring DVM students to connect with veterinary medicine professionals who represent a wide variety of backgrounds and career options!

The Mentor Network also houses the SAVMA Faculty Mentor Program where our veterinary students can query and reach out to UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine faculty with similar interests. This year, the program is hosting a new monthly event called ‘Networking @ Noon’ where students get the chance to sign up and talk to faculty of a specific interest area in a very small group setting. The goal of the program is to enhance students' knowledge of career opportunities, fine-tune their communication and networking skills while also teaching them the benefits and power of mentorship. In addition, the Faculty Mentor Program will be offering unique opportunities for students to participate in social networking events with faculty.

Current UC Davis DVM students, registered mentors and employers in the VetMedJobs system can access the Mentor Network through VetMedJobs by clicking on the Mentor Network tab at the top.

UC Davis faculty and professionals in the field of veterinary medicine who wish to join the Mentor Network can register at Once registered, enter the system via VetMedJobs.
