Faculty/Staff Wellness Resources

Faculty / Staff Wellness Resources

UC Davis, and the SVM specifically, places a tremendous amount of importance on the emotional and physical well-being of all faculty and staff. To that end, the school is dedicated to seeing that the physical and emotional wellness of each and every member of the SVM community is a priority.

Beyond the many dedicated resources the university has established, the school continues to seek further opportunities to improve our surroundings with a goal of creating an environment that is the most conducive to an optimal acceptance and well-being for all. We will continue to push for and advance mental health and wellness initiatives throughout the SVM and beyond.

We encourage all faculty and staff to explore the many options available through main campus such as the Academic and Staff Assistance Program and the Aggie Compass Basic Needs Center which provides an array of resources, including crisis hotlines and other outlets for immediate assistance. Additionally, “Each Aggie Matters” unites the tens of thousands of students, faculty, and staff at UC Davis in an open and affirming dialogue about mental health.

Outside of the university, there are many organizations dedicated to the mental well-being of veterinary professionals like Not One More Vet, Shanti Project, and other suicide prevention organizations such as the QPR Institute. The American Veterinary Medical Association also offers a multitude of resources dedicated to the wellness of veterinary professionals.
