The primary source of COVID-19 information for faculty, staff and students is the Campus Ready site.
Visit the Office of Research information site regarding COVID-19 and management of research activities.
The Veterinary Medicine VIPER site contains postings of internal resources.
Essential Services
- Are veterinary medicine and related services considered essential?
- The work that is performed by the School through its mission to advance the health of animals, people, and the environment are essential services. The State of California and CDC guidelines for veterinary services and clinics permit continued work following a potential exposure, provided personnel remain asymptomatic and recommended public health precautions are in place.
The CDC guidelines that apply to a hospital environment are found here: Information for Healthcare Professionals about Coronavirus (COVID-19) and specific information related to a potential exposure at work are found here: Interim U.S. Guidance for Risk Assessment and Work Restrictions for Healthcare Personnel with Potential Exposure to COVID-19.
Caregiving During the Pandemic
- Where can I find Veterinary Medicine-related resources about the challenges associated with caregiving responsibilities for their families?
-
The challenge of navigating caregiving responsibilities during this crisis relates to our commitment to wellbeing and to our principles of diversity, equity and inclusion. Many members of the academic veterinary medical community, including students, faculty, and staff, face unique challenges associated with caregiving responsibilities for their families. A new resource, Caregiving during the pandemic, is now available on our AAVMC Wellbeing Resources page.
